Diagnostic Test Formats

Rapid Diagnostic Testing Medical Division

A cardboard, book-shaped, hinged test device containing the test strip

Test Devices: A membrane coated with antibody specific for influenza B nucleoprotein antigen and with control line antibody is combined with anti-influenza B and control line antibody conjugates in a hinged test device. The membrane of an untested device contains a blue line at the control line area.

Barrel Technology

The shape of the device resembles a syringe with a narrow sampler tip and the test strip enclosed in the barrel. The single-use vial of buffer is stored in a small cap, which the barrel is firmly fitted into. Inside the cap is the control agent or Tris buffer containing detergent and sodium azide, which activates the test.

Sandwich format lateral flow device ("LFD")

The device is a single or multi-analyte format, using contrast or control and indicator reagents in an LFD to instrumental or non-instrumental visual endpoints. A sandwich format lateral flow device ("LFD") with a single test line for the determination and semi-quantitative detection of a large molecule analyte in a biological or aqueous test sample.

Dipstick

The invention pertains to dipstick immunoassay devices. The device comprises a base member and a single, combined sample contact zone and test zone, wherein the test zone incorporates the use of symbols to detect analytes in a sample of biological fluid.
